Discussion on the three big Chinese internals, Yiquan, Bajiquan, Piguazhang and other similar styles.

Emissaries of Shaolin

London Shaolin Temple:

NYC Shaolin Temple:

I have come across a few other schools where monks (or former monks) claiming to be taught in Shaolin have set up temples around the world to teach Shaolin Arts.

The two shown above are some of the better examples that appear online.

Is there a move to export Shaolin across the world, to make it more available to people? If so, what is driving this? Is it the Shaolin brand, or the Chinese Government (for cultural reasons??). Or is it just monks striking out on their own??

The 1st time that I visted the Shaolin temple was during 1980. I counted with my own fingers that there were only 4 monks in the whole temple (some monks might hide in some place). The 2nd time I went over there (around 1987), there were Shaolin monks all over the place. They all claimed that they grew up in that temple. I have problem to figure out how can those monks be allowed to stay in Shaolin temple during the culture revolution.

To keep up with the times ,both Shaolin and Taoist stylists have shown up on our shores, both claim to spread the philosophy , but all are commercial endeavors.
The point . is absolute

a simple example, if you believe there is no example of SC, a very high art that I truly do Respect, in the Internal Realm. If the art is authentic it will most assuredly be complete.
