by everything
could he learn from you via zoom / video calls? obviously won't work for push hands, two many drills, sparring, etc., but basic movement, form, etc. would be great. I had a bespoke yoga class with some old friends over zoom/google meet. was great as it was customized to our small group.

He asked me that but I am not interested
I told him he needs something that has already been set up

Depends on what he wants, but if it's just to learn a form to practice for health, or just something to get started with there are plenty of free courses on Youtube that don't make you grease the wheels of industry.

Any advances on that one
He breaks far too many principles for me

I'm pretty sure nothing will actually satisfy you, so it's pointless to ask.

My point was - if he just wants a health form, anything is better than nothing, so long as he's not doing anything that is going to injure him.

I am not sure why anyone would recommend learning Tai Chi online, but if you want an instructor to your friend, why not test Ian Sinclair'? He has private online instruction and if you don't want personal instruction, he has basic instruction videos as well. Might not agree with everything, but I know that he has had solid Yang style teachers and seems to understand the basic principles pretty well.

A number of teachers started teaching online during COVID, and some have figured out some really good approaches. There are advantages and disadvantages to the tools available-- good teachers tend to figure out what works online and what doesn't. The best advice is probably just to evaluate their gongfu as best you can, and check out those that look like they've achieved something worthwhile. Worry more about the teacher than the teaching modality.

I've gotten a lot of value from Alex Kozma's Chinese Internal Fighting Arts videos and they're inexpensive. It's not Taiji but good material that was like a huge expansion of my existing Xingyi and Bagua. I've really enjoyed learning the Wang Shujin Baguazhang through this series. I've been interested in Serge Augier's Zhang Zhaodong -> Wang Shujin material and Alex is teaching that. I learned the Jiang Rong Qiao Bagua in person and this has been a fun time learning a different side of the Zhang material.

The Xingyi Academy Yanyi material is really good stuff. Anyone who has done some Xingyi 5 Elements and zhan zhuang work in person should be able to approach it. Paul Andrews takes one through basic movement patterns, how those apply to the 5 Elements, and then expands that through a selection of 12 Animals movements as well. Overall I really enjoyed a look at another line's training material for exploration of movement intent that has similar body method expression to what I learned in the Kenny Gong school.

Ray Carbullido has some really clear instruction that is centered around movement patterns and expanding them into other parts of his martial arts. I studied with his senior brother locally and Ray has about 3-5 years worth of training material on his training library. The primary training method he teaches has an online course now and I learned some of his material through a seminar and registration in his online course.

Kelly Whelan Enns has a number of Udemy courses available for those interested in Jiang Baguazhang and Yiquan through Lee Ying Arng. The structure of his curriculum is not exactly clear and some of the exercises are repeated in different courses.

Maybe he is doing that in order to look at and emphasise the foot he is moving in an instructional context. Just a thought. ::)
