A question regarding a National Geographic program

Postby the.israeli on Thu Sep 04, 2008 12:09 pm

Hi folks, My name is Jonathan.
I'm a big fan of martial arts, and currently practicing Xing-Yi.
There's a certain national geographic program I'm dying to get my hands on, but up until now I couldn't find its name. The following 3 videos all appear to come from that show:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aot1e30A ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGz7sBSM9RU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc8UoTR1 ... re=related

Does anyone know the name of that show?

Not sure. Interesting though. I know they have some titles not available in US formats (one on Buakaw) that I would like to get. Let us know what you find.

those clips are on eric lings page, and while he doesn't seem to reply to messages, i know he's in malaysia, so i'm thinking that the white crane guys may also be in malaysia. if so, i might know someone who knows those guys, and i might be able to track something down.

gimme a few days and i'll find out.

JAB:
Well, I'm asking over here since I couldn't find the show's name after having done some searching around.
"the.israeli" is just an old nick I use with all my accounts so I won't get confused. Over the years I've signed for dozens if not hundreds of websites, and keeping track is just too troublesome - I stuck to one nick.
I happen to be an Israeli too. Are you truly a Palestinian? :P

ashe:
Thanks for your help. I did send Eric88ling a message some months ago and he didn't reply. I wish his blog was more tidy. He had posted some incredible white crane videos.

Those looks like segments from an older NG series from the early 90s about CMA in Taiwan. (In one scene the narrator mentions that Master Liu Yun Chiao had just passed away.)

B.T.W. the guy demonstrating Baji in the clip was my gym teacher in college!

I wish my high school sports teacher knew anything besides running and Basketball... :-(
Do you think you can recall the name of that show somehow? Unfortunately, National Geographic don't seem to record and publish the names of their older shows.
