Kimbo Does The Limbo!

I hope some of you guys got to see Seth Petruzelli lay the mighty Kimbo ever so low in :14 seconds of the first round. :o

I didn't think I'd ever see Kimbo taken out that fast. It was totally awesome. 8-)

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened with Ken Shamrock. Good for this Seth kid though, he's just made a name for himself !

Edit: Wikipedia to the rescue.
On October 4, 2008 Shamrock was warming up and received a head butt and needed 6 stitches and was not able to compete against Slice. The doctor who examined Ken said he would not be able to compete for at least 45 days because of the injury.

Looks like Shamrock's loss is Pretruzelli's gain. A star is born! ;D

That was crazy. Ken has always tended to prepare too hard. As for Kimbo, looks like a case of too much learning. Too many techniques clogged up his natural fighting ability. And of course, he ate a punch.

Wow!

Hard to see from that video what the decisive blow was - did he eat a knee to the head as he tried for the takedown?

Nah it was a jab - delivered while standing on one leg no less.

Didn't have anything to do with the fight but there's something about that ref that irks me. Reminds me of this guy:

Impressive.

The fight not the prancing ref.

Hard for me to tell if it was a straight arm jab or a stumble that was his undoing.

I doubt it was a fix. Kimbo is too early in his career to buy into going down. Also, this looks rather bad for Elite, because he was their big draw. As it is they are having some big problems, so unless Zuffa decided to pay them off, I don't see a motivation.

On the clip I saw, it showed an angle that made it clear that it was indeed the jab that did Kimbo in. It hit him straight and solid, end of story.
