Hsing-I in Beijing?

Postby cerebus on Fri Oct 10, 2008 4:34 pm

Hey everyone. My cousin Joe will be going to Beijing to teach English for a year starting in December. He's interested in meeting any of you who are currently there and also in finding a solid instructor in Hebei Hsing-I. Anyone know of any decent Hsing-I instructors in Beijing? Thanks!

How about Di Guoyong?

Other famous xingyi guys in Beijing include:
Niu Baogui (Wu Zizhen lineage, baguazhang/taijiquan as well)
Xu Fanzeng (Song style, baguazhang/Yue shi Sanshou as well)
Luo Dacheng (Luo Xingwu lineage, baguazhang as well)
Li Keren (Luo Xingwu lineage, baguazhang as well)
Cui Guogui (Shang style)
Wang Deming (Wang Jiwu lineage)

Of course, many people better-known for their baguazhang also teach xingyiquan (Liu Jingru, Sun Zhijun, etc.). Sun style people are around as well (Sun Shurong, Sun Yongtian, etc.).

Hey C, I don't know anyone, but I'll be in Beijing in the middle of the summer. Can you let your cousin know that I'd love to meet up and drink some tea, or let him beat me up with his newfound xingyi skills. :D

Thanks Ed! And hey Mix, I'll let 'im know. I think you guys would have a great time hangin out. Back when Joe was in college, he shocked his father by showing up at his own art show wearing a dress and combat boots! He definitely marches to the beat of his own drum...

Here and I thought you dressing in your sisters undies was indicative of something.

:)

I was out for sushi with a couple friends the other day. My friend had brought a college buddy who was pretty straight and normal along. I found out that my other buddie's girlfriend was an aspiring nail technician, so I asked her if she would do my nails.
My friend and his friend were a bit incredulous so I punctuated it by joking that I love dressing up like a girl. My friend's friend looked disgusted and said under his breath "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that". Lol it was veddy funny.

My cousin just likes to shock people. He definitely prefers the ladies as far as sexual interest goes, but he also enjoys the expressions on the faces of uptight, narrow-minded people who fry a few neurons when they see things that they deem to be "wrong" (which are really just harmless in and of themselves).

Anyway, this ain't a Tai Chi thread, so enough with the "ghey" comments.... ;D back to Hsing-I....
