I find benefit in the sinawalli's you taught me which I find complement my tc but have never liked the independent arm actions you see in a lot of FMA arts. Although this is not evident in tony diego or dan innosanto. Of course Edgar had brilliant upper body but his lower body (legs) appear somewhat lacking. I would suggest mastering one art before exploring others.

There doesn't appear to be a "drooling + green with envy" emoticon.

I have the same tens of hours.

Hi everyone,

I'm really enjoying this thread! The Filipino arts (Dog Brothers & Inosanto/ Lacoste) are the primary arts I train. What I like about the DBMA system is that it is pragmatic and emphasizes training in the adrenal state. In addition to the idioms/ techniques we train, DBMA also recognizes the importance of recognizing pre-fight indicators or cues, as well as having an understanding of relevant self-defense laws and knowing under what circumstances force is justified. What I like about the Inosanto/ Lacoste system is its breath and depth (which can quite frankly sometimes make your head spin), the acknowledgment of ranges and the different skills needed to attack/ defend in those ranges, Guro Inosanto's exhortation to students that they "absorb what is useful" in the pursuit of making themselves complete martial artists, and last but not least the example he himself sets for the rest of us.

As for videos, this video was just posted by Guro Rittiner aka Lonely Dog from this year's Euro Gathering: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjAkbQb6axU

Best,

Greg

I love Guro Rittiner (aka Lonely Dog's) drills. His YT channel (below) is a wealth of information and his workouts are IMHO well worth the effort of incorporating into your routine.

As for his accent, it is Swiss German.
