James Cama passed away Friday evening, 8/15/14

Postby kenneth fish on Fri Aug 15, 2014 6:36 pm

It is with great sadness that I relate the passing of my kung fu brother James Cama, earlier this evening. No details are as yet available. James was the inheritor of the Buddha Hand Wing Chun system. His passing is a great loss to all of his friends and students.

OMG! I am very saddened by this news. His dedicated presence in the Fut Sau Wing Chun and Kwong Sai Jook Lum Gee Tong Long Pai communities will be sorely missed.

May the soul of this faithful departed, James, through the mercy of God rest in peace. May Perpetual Light shine upon him and may his memory be eternal! Amen :'(

I am utterly shocked and in tears!!! How horrible!! He was not at all old, not even 55 I think!

I got to know sifu Cama a while back when I interviewed him for my book. It was only a few weeks ago that we have last spoken. I cannot claim to have known him well, but I do want to say a few words of the man I knew. James was a kind soul, with a gentle heart and an lovely smile. He was never pretentious, and always spoke from the depths of his heart. He loved his arts and his teachers dearly, and his family even more. He was an authentic old-schooler in everything he did, and always stuck to his truth no matter what and regardless of who said otherwise. I was always genuinely impressed with him as a martial artist, and more so as a human being. He left behind a spouse, a daughter and a son, as well as a teacher (sifu Robert Lee) and many students. He will be missed. May he rest in peace. I am thankful for all that he has selflessly shared with me. It was only yesterday that his first and last book was published, on his beloved art of Buddha Hand Wing Chun, of which he was the sole inheritor in North America. Please be kind and purchase the book, as the money will likely now be used to support sifu Cama's family. Book link: http://www.amazon.com/Fut-Sao-Wing-Chun ... +wing+chun

I literally just watched his southern praying mantis video that JB hosted not but two nights ago. His devotion to his arts seemed to be such a labor of love. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

I am saddened to hear of his sudden and unexpected passing.

Joss was lit and prayers said to the four directions on his passing, as well as for his family and his pai.

I can't believe it - he was so young - really terrible news. I was counting the days to finally buy his book... so really shocking...
