No chance to apply your MA skill

The worse nightmare that anyone can have is one day you have to use your MA skill in combat and you find out that you don't even have a chance to use it.

I don't know how much MA training the T-shirt guy has in this clip. But he has no "entering strategy" and no "finish strategy". Should he at least have some punching skill, kicking skill, locking skill, or throwing skill?

Personally, I've never found MMA fighters too tough to deal with. My usual response is to drop to the ground in a fetal position, squeal like a pig, and pee all over myself. I find the fetal position effectively prevents a shoot, and usually the disturbing noise and even more disturbing smell take the heart right out of my attacker. I used to teach this in self defense classes, and it works in most situations, but sadly not against bears. Poor Jill. We'll miss her...

OK, I'll do it, clearly he hasnt learned his art because he can't fight. Now in these cases, actually especially in the west, this is the birth of MMA. A fighter studies Chinese martial and knows form to death, gets in a fight and gets his ass kicked, his opponent is substantive. So was it the ground game that beat me or the grappling or the striking yadda yadda, and the search begins, and he never learns his art which already has the answers.

The second clip was more apparent. The JJ fellow was far more well rounded (punch, kick and he even trapped leg for the fall then plummet the other fellow) while the wing chun fellow had no entering nor finishing skills!

In both clips, if some kicks and punches are exchanged, it's normal that one person will win and one person will lose at the end. What bother me is both persons just loses without throwing a single punch or a single kick. This is like going battle field and gets killed without firing a single bullet. This make me to believe that to wait for your opponent to attack first is not a good idea.

both guys had no a clue how to play with basic wrestling/jj/sc skills,
so,
really, they didn`t has a lightest chance to apply anything ,
they was stoned on the 1st contact...
Open competition when you didn`t trained with different styles doesn`t make a sense

do not be confuse by the form, a force coming in, is a force coming in.

if using xingyi snake for example
downward chop strike can go on the back of neck or back
turning and rotating the wrist inward and outward (then outwards in straight or diagonal direction)
can go to front of neck.

at this point, you may choose to push out
or you can hook-strike (fajing) back to your own body direction (with the other hand applied to the back or base of neck and pushing in the opposite direction)
this apply force to front of neck

Those are illegal now, but all of those "deadly strikes" were legal in the first few UFC matches... and look what happened there. And some of those guys were pretty good, too, at their arts and won some related competitions prior. It's like that famous saying about fighting a water polo guy in the pool -- even if you're an Olympic level fighter or world-class martial artist, you will very likely drown, unless you actually train fighting in a pool -- only then you have a real chance to "apply your art". No exceptions; everything else is fantasy and delusional reliance on some crazy (and very improbable) luck.

I'm sure the guys in the OP learned a great deal and I hope they adapted their training. Kudos to them for actually getting out there and trying that shit, instead of empty theorizing about how this or that awesome technique from their unbeatable art would surely destroy any opponent instantaneously.

I like the idea that one needs to fully learn his art to beat a bjj white belt

Friend of mine got a table thrown at the back of his head. Ended up breaking the guy's jaw in two places.

I've been repeatedly punched in the throat with no ill effects.

Since you're in Singapore, you can head down to Evolve University and cross hands with multiple bjj world champions, Olympic wrestlers, Lumpinee and Rajadamnern champions, WBA champions, and pro mma fighters.
