for the female version
usually done seated
it usually starts wit a massage of the breasts
and then the deer exercise itself involves holding the breath and contracting the pelvic floor upward
female friends that have tried it
tell me they stopped their period within 1-3 months of practice
i would guess that the physical mechanism works by mimicking the internal changes that happen after childbirth
where the internal resources are directed upwards to the breasts
and the period no longer comes
of course I don't have any direct experience with the female version
but have practiced the male version
