Annoyingly the information is presented backwards – he starts with how to finish the ankle lock and gradually works backwards to the set up to making it happen, covering all the possibilities along the way...

I do not think that would annoy me. Chess champion Bobby Fischer's book on how to play the game began with the checkmate and worked backward from there, reasoning that the win is why you play. One of the best books I've read on the subj. Starting with the goal is a sound if somewhat unusual didactic plan.

I think it works if you watch everything from start to finish as a whole. If you want to go back to it later and dip in and out it's not so great.

It's a very good DVD, I am obsessed with footlocks lol, but his approach is good as it is IBJJF friendly.

My only criticism is that it doesn't show how to enter into the positions, but rather once you get them, but I think his explanations are very good.

Jon,

He does, though? He shows how to get into Ashi Gurami and from there into the footlock, and how you can end up in 50/50.

What he doesn't really show is any other way to get into the foot lock, so if your point is that there is a lack of different methods shown then yes I agree, but he does show the one root very well. However, since the entry isn't covered till the end of the material, you simply may have missed it - that's my criticism of the order of things.

You seen the 80/20 guard from Josh Hayden? that is a excellent leg lock attack system.

Yeh bro I brought the disc set, it's well worth it, I have just about all of the leglock instructionals out there, Reily Bodycomb etc etc.

Enrico Coccco just released one I might get 2.

I am kind of getting into the rubber guard a bit and am obsessed with omoplatas, gogoplata etc lol
