If you train this XingYi Pi Chuan drill 1,000 times daily vs. you train this long fist kick punch drill 1,000 times daily, which will give you better "health" benefit? Which training can make you "live longer" that you will have better chance to see your 100 years old birthday?

Your thought?

You will get faster heart rate from long fist drill than from XY drill. A kick will take more energy than a punch does. To stand on one leg is also more challenged than to stand on both legs.

One kick-punch drill that I like is:

- right back fist
- left side kick
- double hands pull
- right front kick
- right palm strike
- right/left wrist lock
- right side kick
- left back kick
- right front kick
- right hammer fist
- right/left arm block
- right straight punch.

I just don't have enough energy to drill it 1,000 times.

I get a good workout with changquan routine because of the "integrated hand/leg/foot extension" with the varied routine. I also vacumn the carpet, make the bed, mow the lawn and take out the garbage as instructed by my other half so it is good to get away while going nowhere ;D

BTW Due to the coordinated neuromuscular coordination going on, it is positive in all regards without special equipment!

Exercises that are more rigorous do not necessarily bring better health benefits.

This latest article from Time health points out that even slow-moving Taiji can produce health benefits comparable to jogging and other forms of fast-moving workouts. (The results are backed by scientific research.)

which "drill" make your breathe reach your dantian more?

heart rate? what heart rate?
in cma talk cma
don't mix the east and west
confuse the fundamental meaning and blur the definitions
and come to nonsensical conclusions.

correct cma or zz traing should make you feel refreshed with energy
not tired or winded
if so, it is wrong technique/speed/breathing/mind (you not concentrating/stressed out, etc)

Pi is the first
Pi trains Lung Metal to produce Kidney Water
that's why Pi is the first

The correct TCM exercise should get heart rate up but breath still naturally kept slow and steady. Drill Piquan of Tongbeiquan achieve this, the result is quite immediate. But live till 100yrs, can not be assured.

Statistically the best way to live to 115 is to

BE A JAPANESE WOMAN.

I don't think they train CMA but there is plenty of data to prove their method is better than CMA.

'Miso soup & seaweed'........Okinawans are said to have the longest lifespan, probably not because of Karate practice, but because of diet and something called 'Moai' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moai_(soc ... ort_groups)

I can guarantee you will live to over 100 years in my school.

But your not going to like the jibengong :)

I'm very picky about jibengong practice, i especially dislike those exercises involving high kicks........But i do like Miso soup and seaweed :)

For your age any exercise between 90 to 120 bit per minute is sufficient, and 30 minutes per day plus small amount of heavy work will keep you healthy according to experts. But maintaining your strength is another question, maybe this is why people look for eccentric exercise.

Generally, one can do without CMA but wellness, fitness and health has various variable/attributes that contribute to longevity.
There are numerous domains but here is one view that shares variables: http://www.nationalwellness.org/?page=Six_Dimensions

Actual objective criteria for fitness per heart rate is based on something called Karvonen's formula: 220-one's age X .75 (based on fitness professional assessment as it can be anywhere from 50-90%. Based on a less than healthy lifestyle the adjusted formula has been adjudicated to be: 200-age X .x%
Objectively, a heart patient who has had surgery cannot be subjected to to initial 220-age as the heart rate will be too high.
