He died in his sleep, I'm told.

I studied wushu with a disciple of Pan's and once took a tiger seminar with Pan. For some years, he was an important figure in Canadian wushu competitions as a coach. A colourful figure, but he new a lot about Chinese martial arts. R.I.P.

Pan Shirfu was cool...may he RIP. I met him a few times.

I liked how he was always willing to hit (you, me...anybody actually) a person on the forehead with his IRON Knuckles. It felt like someone took a "Ball Peen" hammer (the rounded end) and hit you with it. Haha

The man goes on record in China for actually killing someone with his bare hands. Once he had to apprehend some criminals and it didn't go well for the bad guys. Wow...not many can say that, not that I really want to.

"Iron and Silk" was how many of us were introduced to him. He had an intensity that made him a force of nature.
