Chou Si and Chan Si and Chan Shen

Chou Si 抽丝 pulling silk
Chan Si 缠丝 reeling silk or wrapping silk
Chan Shen缠身 wrap around the body

The term Chan Shen means wrap around or wind around the body which is well-known in Baguaquan. In practice pulling silk is reeling in one direction while wrapping and winding is multi-directional. The only person had access to Baguaquan in Chenjiagou is Chen Yanxi as he was teaching in Ma Bo Cun (horse slop village) together with Fu Zhensong’s Baguaquan teacher Jia Qishan (Jia Fengming). He exchange Taiji pushing hands for Bagua Chan Shen techniques as no other styles of Baguaquan has Bagua pushing hands. I cannot find any specific clip on Bagua Chan Shen but this one from Bajiquan can illustrate similar idea, and the Bajiquan members of this forum can provide more detail:

Good to know that your teacher sees the connection. Here is a video of Fu Zhensong's student and grand student doing pushing hand sets back in the 80s:

With the understand of Chan Shen the following video makes good sense in applying Taijiquan and Baguaquan principles to the traditional martial arts of Chenjiagou:
