Yes I'm wondering very specifically about that particular detail. I can sink qi to dantian (this is not metaphorical) but from a qigong pov, not related to MA or rooting or jin and so on. So sinking qi may be the first step but by itself I don't see that it gives any "magical" connection to the MA aspects. My "root" is pretty good but it's always been that way, qigong or no qigong. A lot of it is probably just a low center of gravity. My hip joint mobility is bad.
