This video was not filmed or edited by me. I did do a lot of the sword fighting choreography (not the throwing sheaths and other corny bits!), though unfortunately most of it isn't shown here. It's an advertisement made for the school of one of my fellow disciples, where they plan to offer weapons classes soon.

I wish that they had shown longer scenes and worked harder on the spear and axe parts, but there was only one day of nice weather. My Master just showed up at the end with his dog. The other foreigner is an American that I introduced to my Master about two years ago. Besides my Master, the two of us train and fight the hardest. I don't regret doing it, as it turned out really funny. Enjoy the show. =P

My own swordsmanship instruction video is coming soon. I still need to shoot several scenes. It will reflect actual sword training, rest assured. 8-)

Nice clip

A good montage of clips put together in a well knit way
providing an over view reflecting the spirit and type of CMA training portrayed in real time
in a somewhat scripted yet live way..

well done. I would hardly call it silly.... ;)

I think I'd say 'fun' instead of 'silly'.

Funny vid with kids playing with swords.

A bit like trying to sell a skin creme by only showing a picture of a blueberry. No info, no nothing, just a blueberry. That would be fun and silly alright, but I strongly doubt it would generate even one single sell.

I wish that I could argue with you. Just don't take it serious. Who would I be if I couldn't share a good laugh at my expense? ;D

Thanks guys.

Oh, one more thing: The axe that the American is swinging is real and it was extremely dangerous (and stupid). All of the swordwork that I was doing is legitimate. It was just edited unintelligibly.

I liked what was in there, but by looking at it I just don't understand what it tries to sell or to whom.

Honestly, I think that the goal was for those two blokes in the middle to look cool and nothing more.. We agreed to do it just to help, but I thought it was so embarrassingly funny that I just had to post it! :P

OMG that is like a trailer for a bad martial arts movie. You should get everyone to make a super corny martial arts movie together, it would be boss.

I'm glad you were entertained.. :P

If I was staying in China longer I'd want to make a proper film and direct and choreograph it myself. 8-)

Get in line! :p

Seriously, though.. There was a Hongkong series some years back called, I believe, Kung Fu Quest. Every episode they had a cartoon-villainous foreigner get their arse kicked. It was embarrassingly pathetic... :-\ The "sword fighting" was rubbing too.

ha I enjoyed it a lot. No idea what is advertised but don't really care. Feel like there should be more in an entire series with some kind of actual storyline added later. I like how the teacher is just carrying a dog, casually.

Haha, I'm not that clear on it either.. I love the dog too. He's always got a new dog every time I see him, haha. I'll leave the silly series to them. I think they'll get on fine without me.. :P

I'm sure there could be a joke made here 8-) but yes Chinese have learned to love their dogs. I remember one of my Taiji teachers(Chinese)back in Sweden saying that when he first came to Sweden he was surprised people there treated dogs as family members 8-)
