Marin Spivack interview

I personally don't like watching interviews, But this one is exceptional.
I think that I'm going to go meet this guy in the spring. Very inspiring!

Do it - I think you two were made for each other!
One does not simply post on RSF.

I know that you mean that in a bad way Graham but I'm not going to let you bother me today.

I only listen to the first half hour and that was while I was training anyways. But obviously he's not such a bad guy or the people that he is referring to as his main instructors would not hold him so highly regarded. So I have to question people's motives on this site why they don't like this guy, maybe it's not him maybe it's them?

I don't bear him any ill will. To me he's just another guy I used to argue with back on emptyflower. Who he is in the Chen Taiji circles or greater MA community at large is immaterial. He's fuggin Mo.

okay I didn't know that you argued with him. What you might not be realizing is that he has earned a certain position in the Tai Chi community and that is according to the Chinese Grand Masters. Not such an easy task my friend. Perhaps he is not just an ordinary guy. So now I have a question for you. Did you show him the same level of respect as you would have if one of his master's was standing right in front of you?

To answer the question I would probably tell them that I didn't have two hours to listen to them talk, either.

Willie - fwiw emptyflower/RSF is nearly 20 years old. You've been here for a year or so. Mo was a long term member. There are reasons why he is not anymore. (Not that they are anything to do with me - as I said, just fyi).

I always enjoyed seeing Chen Yu's stuff though.

Haha, what you don't know is that I was banned from empty flower. Do you know why? Because I was the first one doing MMA and blending Tai Chi with it and no one on empty flower accepted BJJ or MMA on an internal website. I was the ONLY one doing it that I knew of at that time.

I've been around a lot longer then you think...

That was a weird conclusion...

I joined the old EF about 2002 or 2003. All of the time, I’ve only had a trouble with three people and he is not one of them. Most of the bullies stuck to the new board on emptyflower.net. I’ve never had any trouble with people he was in conflict with. They all seem to get along with most people.

A few years ago he tried to invite his teacher, but they had trouble with his visa. Apparently he cancelled the seminars but kept the fees that people already had payed. Haven’t heard anything more about him.

.
I made my assumption on the guy's character by listening to his interview. He sounds like a very reasonable individual to me. In fact he's actually quite generous. What you may not realize is how much the information that he has costs when it comes from top-level guys like that in the world. If anything this site should have made sure that he was not banned because there is no way that the information that he has is incorrect. and with all the Mis-information on the net.., that guy was a treasure to have around.
