Tai Cheng! All yours for only $19.95!!!

Flipping through the channels, I saw this.

I suppose it shows that there are a lot of people out there who still want to learn taiji.

Hopefully after making their purchase will seek out an actual instructor.

This is the 1st clip that I have seen "leg cross" warm up is used. It's a such important warm up that most of the Taiji teaching clips just don't have it.

I'm still allergy to "push".

This is pretty much exactly what I am going for with Progresisve Tai Chi, although I am leaning more towards Tsatsouline's work than something called "Dynamic Motion Control", which appears to be meaningless (I'm of the opinion I just couldn't find out what it was).

You can see him doing pistol squat progressions in the video, and leg cross ala what Johnwang said, is exactly the kind of thing I am trying to bring into Tai Chi training. Or should I say, bring back. You will notice that even in the past, many "difficult" moves had been removed -- what I feel really happened was a slow degradation into the modern world. As such many difficult applications such as bend-over-backward (subject of a recent 13 Tai Bao thread, for instance) have been lost out of many martial arts and exist only in a few which specialize in them. Doing things like squat progression can bring many of these applications back.

By the way the complete set is $240. Sounds about right for what you are getting, but it does put it into the enthusiast category. They should offer it section by section for $50 or so. They might sell more. Or repackage it into different levels or programs.

Either that or looking for another way to keep eating tons of crap while doing as little as possible to get the "beach body". Bad news for the latter..

No surprise, it's an element of Shuaijiao not Taijiquan. Why should those aforementioned clips have it?

I agree that it is obvious that the instructor has studied a lot of Chinese martial arts.

Like our politicians who say vote for me and you will win so much you will get tired of winning. The idea behind good marketing is the same; buy this, everything else in your life will be so much better and you won't even have to do much of anything.

I caught it on a hotel tv when I was traveling. Dick Van Dyke was hosting the infomercial hawking it. I've checked out some pirated bits, it seems like some sound information.

Funny thing is that all the permutation as Tai Cheng, Naked Tai Chi, Tai CHi for Colds, etc seems to be the norm. The other "realer tai chi seems to be on the fringes ???
At least, I found out that Dick van Dyke is alive..........
