If we say in a sort of CS/AI way there are three states

Initial state of all sorts

Middle state of point of contact

“Thrown out” state

How you transition states may seem different or similar. IMA seem mostly the same
amateur practices til gets right pro til can't get wrong
/ better approx answer to right q than exact answer to wrong q which can be made precise /
