Question for JW?

So, I was watching one of Luo Laoshi's vids on subtle skills of gao bagua and for the technique "push" (and the same sort of push is used over and over as part of different houtian forms) is as a projection with the pushing hands transfering energy into the locked frame of the opponent via the line of his shoulder carriage.

My qusestion is since Gao bagua is derivative of SC and it makes so much use of this technique (and variants thereof)....is that sort of thing not in SC? And if so, do you somehow relate it to something different than the common taiji style of "push" that I know you're so down on?

S- curious.

note: The energy is transferred into the shoulder carriage by pushing into the locked arm with control at the elbow...don't think I was clear on that.

"Push" is used in SC too.

- When your opponent give you a bear hug in front, you can use both hands to push his fore head and apply pressure on his neck.
- When you hook your opponent's leg, you can use both hands to push on both of his shoulder (or just use one hand to push on his shoulder).

Both usage are different from just pushing on the chest.

The 1st example may use "short" Jin (to break his neck) and the 2nd example may use e"long" jin (to push him bck). But in general both short Jin and long Jin are pretty much the same for all styles.
