That's because there is a big mix there. They got Xingyi players, Wu players, Mantis, Wing Chun, Yi-chuan, you name it...and this was 2 years ago so I can only imagine that they've got an even bigger pool of fighters today.

Good times,

G

Good stuff CaliG, thanks for posting. Like your choice of backing music as well! Beats the usual techno/thrash metal...

Those guys throw each other down on the pavement!

That's how we roll in Shanghai.

NIce stuff. Anyone there we know, Cali?

The two guys with domes (one clearly WC, one...Hsing?) look quite tasty.

Yeah all these guys have been on EF at one time or another.

You can see Moondog, DPG, Antony Wood, Sakias, Markus, Vadaga and a host of others. A lot of the people on here train with Laoshi Shen Tiegen but also have backgrounds in other styles.

Antony Wood can be seen using his Mantis. I'm not sure who the WC player is exactly there are a couple in the group.

Hey, thanks for posting that! Brings back fond memories of when I went to go visit my bro, Antony, in Shanghai in 2007. I'm that wing chun "hooligan" getting knocked of his feet by Danny and Mozart!
That first day of fighting those guys I ended up on the pavement plenty of times. Really made me work on getting my stance and stepping more compact. Was great mixing it up with those guys...great exchange and great way to test out your stuff on people of from various styles. I can't wait to get back there and mix it up with them again!
As I understand it thay got a real good thing going there now in Shanghai with a great core group of people; my bro, who does tang lang, wu taiji and xing yi, Danny and Sakias who are studens of Master Shen's, a couple of wing chun guys, a guy who does sanda and even an ex pro mma guy. Some of the guys train bjj and mt as well at BJJ Shanghai.

Great poeple and good times!!!

Hi Sean,

Good to meet you.

Yeah, I miss Shanghai too. Lots of fond memories of training with Shen Laoshi and mixing it up a little with the guys.

Ever since Shanghai the way I train is completely different.

Those guys are onto something!

I remember when it was just Mo and Danny mixing it up, I can't imagine how much fight club has grown since then...

Good times,

Greg

Looks a little "18th Century to me".... lol (see viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4270 )

Damn, ZhongShan park... Man I miss Shanghai.

Where the heck is Danny DPG lately? Still in Shanghai? ShanghaiJay? Where are the old peeps?

Thanks for the video (even though I have a bunch on my computer of Shanghai training, it still brings back great memories)!!

Bill
