Vid reviews..goofy but give an idea

Just got one - heavy duty blade good price for a solid knife like this. Handle is slick will put some tape on it.
Real reasonable price for a solid bowie type knife.. I like it- tuff as hell blade. Good camp knife "bug out bag" knife. if you want a bowie and don't want to shell out a lot of cash this may be the ticket.- sheath is clunky nylon has a small knife included. A kydex type sheath would be better.

Recomended

hey

i bought four when ka bar did the reissue.. cutting with them is a bit strange because of the straight edge and the grind.. more for chopping stuff.. they are solid blades but it wouldn;t be my choice if i could oly have one blade

but for the price buy, use and throw away :)

This knife reminds me quite a bit of a Smatchet for some reason. Looks like a good knife for threshing and skinning. Just from glancing at it, it looks like the balance point might be just a tad bit far forward for my tastes for such a straight blade, given that the spine extends so close to the tip, but then that will also make it stronger for prying chores. I'm glad it's at least flat ground...a hollow grind would have made the whole thing useless as anything but a scary-looking Santoku. I'm not sure I'd choose it for a combat function, but again as yusuf mentioned, if it's cheap enough, you wouldn't mind getting it banged up or lost.

yeah you are both right- its like a H/D semitruck. I like it but seems more like a camp knife chopper. Good value for the money I think. I don't know about knife combat was looking for bowie knife- looking for a CS laredo but they seem to be out of print and going into 2nd edition. Hard to find one ( Laredo) for a reasonable price now. Ran across the Becker's less than 80 bucks.

Any experience with the Beck BK7 or Companion?

Thanks!

You're just needing a good camp knife then? If so, what kind of chores do you anticipate?

If you want cost effective, this is cost effective:

Shorty machete, very useful and easy to carry.
I define internal martial art as unusual muscle recruitment and leave it at that. If my definition is incomplete, at least it is correct so far as it goes.

just some kindling making, chopping some light camping chores like that- plan to use the Becker like a utility knife could use it for self defense/ practice but not likely- may get another one to keep in car. good thing about them is you could practice cuts on a post forever and probably not damage them and if you did WTH get another or use a spare one.

Right Klonk Machete is a good thing to have around use every where even in the back yard

Anyone have one of those? C/S bowie machete?

Cold Steel Spear Point Machete 12" Carbon Steel Blade

I just got one of these and it is an excellent knife. It reminds me of a 12 inch roman short sword. This will make a great camp knife.

Please tell us what happened to you. Since I have one I'd like to know what to avoid.
