I met Mike many years ago when he was studying with Su Yu Chang. I would often judge at tournaments where Mike competed. Almost invariably I gave him high marks for his high level of skill and understanding of internal power and felt he had the potential to become one of the greats. Later he went to Taiwan and I met up with him in Chinatown when he returned and he showed me some forms he had learnt. I lost contact with him over the years and his name didnt register when I saw the obit, one of my friends, Brett, who was a fellow student with Su called me up and alerted me. Frankly I was shocked, he was always so full of life and strong. He was a credit to the martial arts, a true gentlemen in an area where bombast and hype only too often steal the headlines. I hope the students he left behind will continue his great legacy
