I think the "wun yuen" here, is simply a wrong spelling (or cantoneese spelling?) for "hun yuan". Yiquan, as I know use this phrase for multi dimensional force (Hun Yuan Li).

Cheers!

The big guy is Cheuk Fung's student. Not doing anything unusual for yiquan practice. It is a cooperative exercise with both participants getting something out of it when done right.

Cheuk Fung has quite a bit of power from his Hop Gar and other training. He was able to refine his movement to the point where it is barely visible and he's able to express it when someone gives him "the frame". He learned yiquan from You Peng Xi and Fong Ha refining it more by practicing with other yiquan guys. He used to say that he could kill someone with one punch. He would also get $500 to demonstrate empty force. Don't think he does it any more. He can also fight for real.

Demonstrations like these are nothing more than just ways of showing how power can be expressed and issued. Only bullshit if one tries to make more out of it than what it is.

^That's nice and all but if he's got real combat skills why not show clips of people grabbing him for real with real resistance? It would be easy enough for them to say okay first here's how we practice, now here's how to apply this type of force in real life. Then people will understand, but the way this stuff is too often displayed is very misleading.

I guess if one really wanted to know more about the how's and whys he could contact Cheuk Fung or one of his students directly.

By the way, with whom do / did you study Kuang Ping taijiquan with?

More bullshit, or the same type of power possessed by Takeda Sokaku?

Never heard of him.

if you go for locks, you don't "grab for real". you snap joints, you don't hold sumbission holds for minutes while traying to make the other guy cry "uncle". i imagine it would be a little hard to implement this stuff into demonstrations.
