Excellent Therapuetic Qigong

hi everyone

In Jiao Guorui's well written 'Qigong essentials for Health Promotion' he describes what seems like an almost amazing recovery from serious illness by a foriegn practitioner.

'The second case involves a foreigner...in 1946, when he was 60 yrs old, he left the hospital after he had given up on ineffective treatment. He had four injections of camphor a day. The doctor told his family he might live no longer than one month. However he miraculously lived 12 more yrs. How come? The diagnosis was arteriosclerosis, angina, TB, and emphysema. Three days after leaving the hospital he entered another hospital. In addition to the diseases above the diagnosis there was coronary sclerosis, cardiosclerosis, mitral insufficiency, asthma, chronic hepatitis, arthritis, and impotence. Failure of treatment and unimaginable pains left him hopeless. So he tried Qigong Therapy.
' After persistant Qigong exercise he recovered. During his last decade or so he took no nitroglycerin at all, and his symptoms gradually disappeared, he even looked young for his age....'

Does anyone know who this foreigner was , and what exactly he practiced? That is a list of very serious conditions which he survived.

The author of the book apparently inherited the skills of Hu Yaozhen amongst others , and seems quite Xingyi based. The book has a wealth of Chinese clinical trials with Qigong for a range of diseases. Is he still alive and teaching?
