actually that clip of luo looks more like golden chicken shakes its wings.

but chicken always had more pi quan in it than the other elements.

To me it looks like a Pao type of power. An outward explosive sort of motion, not cutting or splitting like pi type power.

hey ... who knows what Lou Laoshi is doing! :D

So you have 4 basic tastes that the tongue recognizes: Sweet, Salty, Sour and Bitter. Pao is like the proposed fifth taste, Umami or xiānwèi (鮮味), thats described like a sort of "deliciousness, savory, brothy" taste. What it does best is enhance the other flavors.

So, Pao tastes good, and makes everything else taste better.
