About Liu and Sun you can find also various leads on the web, for example:

Hmm - there does seem to be a lot of information about Liu Zhixiang on the (Chinese) web (apparently he was an eagle claw guy :D ), but there doesn't seem to be much on Sun Zanxuan (seems he was some kind of Southern stylist?)...

It often helps me to try searching on both the traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese web (I guess the search engines hit different things for some reason), in general.

Liu Zhi Xiang (Lau Chi Cheung) was a student of Liu Qiwen (Lau kai man) and classmate of Liu Fameng (Lau Fat man).

Chen Zizheng was a classmate of Liu Qiwen under Liu Chengyou.

Chen is said to have recruited some of Liu Qiwen's students to become trained as instructors for the Chin Woo.

the others are (cantonese: Lau Jim Ng, Lau Yim Cheung, cheung Jim man, yui kin wah & Lee Bo Ying)

hope this helps, can't wait for the book.

A little late with the reply, but yes, Mi Zhong Law Hon Quan is style taught in the Hong Kong branch of Jing Wu. The Mi Zhong people in Hong Kong Jing Wu are the only people in the association competing regularly in Thai Boxing competitions in Hong Kong, and do well. If I was still living in Hong Kong I would train this, as the teacher is very, very good. It's rare to find a traditional martial arts school in Hong Kong, that's not Wing Tsun, where the focus is actual fighting, and not just forms, push hands/sticky hands and a bit of applications.

Northern TCMA competing in MT and doing well? That is unusual. In fact, it is damned unusual. Would love to see some of that.

Yeah, they are one of the very few TCMA in HK that compete regularly in MT (as far as I know). In one of their schools they have a kickboxing ring, so they may try to work with that context in mind.
