Its a great idea.

Think about the old EF database, with all the articles and clips on how to, and pictures and general resource for good information. Now imagine that something like that gets updated regularly. Now imagine its not only about Xingyiquan....its also about Tongbeiquan!

Now imagine its 83 cents a month.

Some people forget that this is a community and most of us have been here for a long time, and share information not because for profit or agenda, but because we like it and grow from it. 83 cents a month to help maintain this, is actually stealing from my point of view....ill end up owing the site always.

People who cant understand this, well, i think they wouldn't know what to do with the information anyways. Better off buying a monthly can of soda or something.

I don't know if it's my years as a waiter, but I've always been offended by people being cheap. I don't go to a restaurant if I can't afford to tip or whatever.

It used to drive me out of my fucking mind when you'd get these "gaggles of secretary's" and they pull out the calculators. Whatever happened to people going "i'll get this time you get it next time".

Oh absolutely, if by successful, you mean "used by people who refuse to pay." And they are the most important people around--just ask them!

I think we could also make Xingyi more successful by eliminating all stance work (too boring), and punching (too painful).

Master Yang and I discussed dates and content for seminars a couple of weeks ago - I am busy finding venues, will have some information up at the end of the week.

As far as costs - yes, the way we are doing it is pricier than just using a free hosting site - but nowhere near the neighborhood you are quoting. We'll see if it works. Thanks for the input.

p.s. I just thought I'd mention that as I type this, I'm looking out over the blue Pacific. Beautiful white clouds are scudding across the horizon. The air is clear, clean, and crisp with bright sunshine and a temperature of about 75 degrees. Sounds like the ideal atmosphere for a xing yi workshop, doesn't it?

My apologies - I have been occupied with the snow disaster we have just gone through (I have shoveled every day since last Friday - you should see my biceps...) so things are a bit off schedule. Will be working on the Yang Hai seminars and web material this weekend - unless it snows again.
