Any thoughts on Ken Cohen before I start to read some of his material?

I haven't read any of his stuff yet, but it's on my list since I've been emphasizing Qigong in my practice lately.
I've heard his material is pretty good.

Seems like he is one of the original English language writers on qigong. We should give him credit for that.

I think I rented one of his tapes back in the day. I liked the "accordion" movement qigong.

I have one of his books and it is pretty good. Seems like pretty universal stuff and nothing that is too style specific.

Depending on a persons views on that subject ..conservatives tend to strip all legitimacy from drug users since they are using external sources rather than internal sources for chi circulation.

on another note- was ken Cohen a disciple of the Kwan Saihung the 'Wandering Taoist" in the Chronicle of Tao books?

His Qigong is supposed to be from Huashan one of the Taoist Sacred mountain temples.

He's got a huge amount of videos, books, courses on the Qigong he learned.
He's most known for bringing the "real" taiji Ruler from Huashan to the USA.
What I have seen looks expert.

I have some of his stuff, it is nicely put, very clear, well explained. His qigong course is made of basic stuff that anyone can learn and gain from it.

Lately I have been more impressed with people that can honestly and clearly explain very basic ideas in qi gong rather than those that have some esoteric advanced qi gong that they can demonstrate but cannot explain clearly and basically.

I found a copy of a Cohen's meditation tape that someone had given me 5 or 6 years ago. I noticed that some of his work reminded me of the work in my bagua practice although I think his walking meditation is from Yi Quan.

S - QFT

conservative dismissal of other methods indeed keeps one from the tao ;)
