Hello all. I'm another British Columbian, hailing from the Kootenays, specifically Creston. Nice to meet everyone here.

My name is Joel, and I stumbled somewhat head first into IMA by joining a local Gong Fu class a few years back. I was very lucky, and have been there ever sense learning from Sifu Neil Ripski, doing a Northern Family system which is known as Ba Ying Quan. Furthermore, I got introduced to his internals, Chen style Tai Chi of Hong Junsheng's lineage, as well as getting to feel both Cheng and Yin Fu bagua, some 5-element Xingyi, and 10 animal Xinyi. I have been also lucky enough to meet Kevin Wallbridge, who lives about an hour away, and have plans of going to ACOS school for their TCM doctorate program which he teaches at.

I personally have very little experience, and primarily am working on Yilu as of now, for about the last 2 years, along with Ba Ying Quan, which is taught very much from an internal standpoint. I hope to get to learn a lot about you, and look forward to learning from everyone here. Perhaps in 30 or so years, I might actually not be so bad at the martial arts I'm learning... but more than likely, I will be so in different ways.

Thanks for reading! Good to meet you all. Hope to push hands someday with you guys if you're ever in the Kootenays!

Hey! I'm based in Oakland, CA. I've been going to Luo de Xiu's summer seminars for a few years now and practice year round with other seminar students. Lately been getting into Yi Chuan and Shuai Jiao. Cheers.

I'm also Eric,

I've been training hui-style tantui for over 2 years now with Kurt Yungeburg in Fort Collins, CO. Before that I had middling experience with half a dozen other martial arts. I have recently begun learning chen taiji and I'm also interested in xingyi, qigong, and chinese medicine.

Hi all,

My name's Tom and I'm an Australian living in London since last August. I used to post occasionally back on the old EF forum (as drilling_fist) but I've been away from forum activities for awhile!

The martial arts didn't really interest me as a kid and aside from a brief brush with tae kwon do when I was 15, I didn't dabble again till I was 21 when I was introduced to Yue Jia Quan (Yet Chia, Ngok Gar Kuen, Yue Fei Quan, etc) by a friend. That was in 2004 and I haven't looked back. For anyone who may not have heard of it, it's a basically a 'hard internal' style loosely related to Xing Yi. My Sifu is GM Lau Yoke Lian of Kuala Lumpur.

Now that I'm living in London, all my training is at home alone due to the fact there are no classes (of Sifu's lineage) outside Malaysia and South Australia. While I'm here I'm keen to start training in some quality Chen Taiji as well.

Looking forward to learning and (hopefully) contributing!

Tom

Hello. I've been practicing various martial arts for a long time. Did a little Isshinryu karate when I was a teenager. Got into Aikido for a little while when I was in the Marines. Then I got into Muay Thai and western boxing for about a year. After the Marines, I found a new Aikido club and stayed there for about 3 years before finding Taiji. I did a little Yang Style, Wu Style, and Chen Style. I also did about 6 months of Shanxi Xing Yi. I've dabbled in several arts, finally deciding to stay with Yin Style Bagua, after attending a workshop with He Jinbao last fall.

Hello
SCMT = Some Call Me Tim
I was on the old EF waaaaaaaay back before the multiple changes and I think the web handle may have been T.

I am a Yang Taijiquan guy in the Tung Ying Cheih lineage, 1 generation removed
I am also a Wing Chun guy 1 generation removed from Ip Ching
I have also study Xingyiquan in multiple lineages, BP Chan, Liang Shouyu and another I have no idea who he learned from but as much as I like Xingyiquan my old body and old injuries don’t

All any of that really means is I train some stuff and in no way means I am any good at any of it.
There are some who call me... 'Tim'...?
