Medical or health based Qi Gong - UK

Postby Dubster on Thu Jul 11, 2013 1:17 am

Can anyone recommend a good system and any teachers with a good reputation in the UK?

I am based in the north of England but will travel for the right teacher.

Please feel free to contact me via pm.

Many thanks.

I can recommend some good Xingyi teachers in the North of the UK, but it's not "health" style and involves heavy contact from day 1. However you might find that it's actually better for your health than "health style" :)

Hi Graham,

I have my own MA practice and irregularly visit a decent thai boxing gym so am not looking for any martial arts training.

Thanks for the reply though.

It is sort of..... I trained in it some years back....had some interesting effects but I moved away from it after a while. YMMV

Don't know that it's the sort of thing Dubster is looking for - Dubster, what sort of thing are you looking for? You want meditation, movement?

Hi Rob,

I was looking for a morning practice for long term health. Was thinking of 8 brocades but can't find a decent teacher (although I'm sure they are out there) & hoped I could get a recommendation from RSF.

You should get in contact with Chris Lomas. He is Greater Manchester area and will be able to give you plenty of good stuff to work on.

Heya everyone

As Dubster is from Bradford, i thought i would throw my lot in here with him.

Does anyone know if there are any IMA teachers in Bradford?
Graham B, if any of the good Xing Yi teachers you know are based around here would really appreciate a pointer in the right direction.

I have just moved over to the UK, and dont know the set up here.

Cheers guys
