i got my doctor's clearance pending the results of my hep b and hiv tests, tho my blood pressure was a tad high. i was just keyed up tho.

anyway, still one last obstacle and that's that i've been selected to appear for county grand jury selection on july 24th. i'm filing to be excused but even if that's denied i figure the odds of me being dismissed are greater than being selected, especially once i tell them i'll be disgruntled if i'm selected. >:(

yo Ashe, ever been in one of these things? i have. they are easy to get out of.i know this is probably very very obvious, but here is my 2c! ahem...

you are right on the money. if you appear to be pissed to be there, you are on the right track. itry to say things like "he kinda looks guilty". the strategy is to appear to be biased already. the defense lawyer wants you to be UNbiased and friendly towards their client (the accused). all's you have to do is appear to be a right-wing, pro hard-justice, mean MoFo, you will be out of there ASAP. essentially, you have to go against you nature and be a real prick!

when it was my turn i said "cmon! look at the guy! he knows he did it, he is just fighting the charges because he will do some serious time. gimmie a break! he is wasting my tax dollars!" the judge told me to settle down and "watch your tone!" the lawyers got me out of there as fast as they could because my "bad attitude" was catching! everybody started mouthing off that the guy was guilty and they were pissed at him! it was one of my best acting jobs!

Image

the truth was- he was guilty and he got nailed for a third offense (DUI, evading arrest) = three strikes and you are out! nice! justice was served and but i still got out of jury duty!

anyways, best of luck!

I believe those are the "light contact" rules you are looking at. We'll be in the Lei Tai (full contact) event. I will be in the "heavy B" category.

Well, looks like I may be able to compete after all. We'll see. Back is feeling much better right now, I have a chiro appointment on Monday, and I'll be scheduling an acupuncture & tui na appointment as well. I gonna heal this durned back, train myself back up to pre-injury condition, and win the gold dammit!
