Subject: June/July 2013 Tai Chi Events Bulletin
Dear Tai Chi Friends;
Come play Pushing-hands with us at the Greater Washington Area Get–together. Saturday 2 to 6pm.
In Push-hands practice, structure provides strength; looseness provides mobility. It is easy to have one or the other, but Tai Chi requires both of these qualities. With Yin and Yang in balance, nature will support our efforts.
There's a soft quality to skill,
and there's a powerful quality to skill.
The two qualities should not compete;
The potential of each should be cultivated....... David C. Chen
Love
Joanne

Traditional Yang Family Style Taijiquan Seminar
The Winchester Yang Chengfu Center of the International Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Association and The Shenandoah Taijiquan Center
present a special program of Yang Family Style Seminars with Master Yang Jun

These seminars represent an exceptional opportunity to learn the components of the most popular style of TaiJiquan in the world from Master Yang Jun, the direct lineage holder.
2013
June 28-30 - Traditional Hand Form, 103 Postures
July 1 - Saber Form
July 2 - Push Hands
More: Chinese Banquet, All-American Picnic
Winchester, Virginia
Hand Form - 103 Postures
The traditional Yang style barehand form, developed and made famous by various family members in the lineage of Yang Luchan, Yang Chengfu, and Yang Zhenduo, is presented in thorough detail. The course includes three days of instruction: five hours of instruction each day, plus practice sessions, and special evening presentations. Attendance by-the-day is also permitted.
This seminar is suitable for new through advanced students. Players familiar with any Yang style will deepen their knowledge and raise their skill level.
Saber Form
The Yang style saber form is simple and powerful. In its main characteristics and basic movements, Yang saber practice is based upon the bare-hand form, with the additional complexity of wielding a weapon effectively and incorporating greater speed and agility.
Push Hands Skills
Push hands training serves numerous purposes in the student's development of understanding taijiquan's movements, principles, and spirit. As we practice the technical skills of push hands training, we learn to understand the opponent's actions and intentions. Simultaneously we learn about our own physical and psychological responses.
In one day's instruction you will gain enough information to practice for a year!
