ABOUT MASTER CHEN XIANG
Master Chen’s visit will be a rare chance for hands-on instruction by one of China’s leading martial artists. As many of you already know, he is widely recognized in China and beyond as a complete martial artist, one who embodies the power, speed, grace and tranquility that characterize the best of Chinese martial arts.
He began training as a young boy and studied several styles before becoming an accomplished master of Baji, sometimes called the “bodyguard style” because the personal security guards of The Last Emperor, Mao Zedong and Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek were all trained in its explosive power and deadly efficiency. And Baji continues to be the martial arts style preferred by China’s elite military and police units.
Upon encountering Hunyuan Tai Chi Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang, Master Chen’s martial arts journey turned inward. He became a formal disciple of the late Grandmaster Feng and trained intensively in developing the so-called internal power that results from unifying mind, energy, body and technique.
We look forward to seeing you at the workshops!
