Escrima Rene Latosa, Seattle Sept 20-21, 2014
Posted: Wed Sep 10, 2014 5:28 pm<<Rene Latosa, on of the world's most prominent Filipino Martial Artists, will be hosted in Seattle by the Seattle Escrima Club the weekend of September 20/21.
There will be two sessions:
Saturday 1-430 will focus on the fundamentals of escrima practice- balance, timing, power, transition, and speed/distance across a variety of weapons and empty hand use. This session will aim to improve the basics which allow execution under pressure and are intrinsic to all martial skill.
Sunday 9-1230 will be a special session focusing on some less-seen elements of Latosa Escrima- kicking, and the use of the AX as a tool to understand transition between weapons and tools.
Cost is $80 for Saturday and $90 for Sunday (includes ax for 1st 12 participants), or $150 for both days
Bonus, for absolute beginners:
Saturday 12:15-1 Seattle Escrima instructor(s) will cover terminology, basic hits, stepping and general familiarization with the system..>>
