Join us as Grandmaster Li Tailiang will discuss the origins and methods of the Xinyidao system, a modern synthesis of the traditional Chinese martial arts of Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, Taijiquan, and Shaolinquan. Grandmaster Li was a member of the Wushu (martial arts) department at the Beijing Sports University, where he helped to establish and promote the sport of Sanshou (competitive kickboxing), and went on to serve as the first coach of the Beijing Sanshou Team. He has also served as an instructor for the Chinese People’s Armed Police, and as a Sanshou coach for the famed Shaolin Temple.

Grandmaster Li’s direct experience in synthesizing a new martial arts system from traditional sources provides an unique perspective on the continued development of traditional Chinese arts and culture in the modern world.
