Hello everyone,

Mike Martello, of Belgium, will be in NYC (Union Square, Manhattan) teaching six seminars:

Fri Mar 13 6pm-10pm Piguazhang & Tongbeiquan: Arm Swings
Sat Mar 14 10am-5pm Tuishou: Push Hands
Sun Mar 15 10am-5pm Qinna Fa: Joint Locks
Mon Mar 16 6pm-10pm Baguazhang Single Palm Change: Part 1
Tue Mar 17 6pm-10pm Baguazhang Single Palm Change: Part 2
Wed Mar 18 6pm-10pm Baguazhang Single Palm Change: Needles

All levels of experience are welcome. Due to the size of our space, each seminar will be limited to the first 16 participants.

So what do you get? A total training time of 28 hours with a phenomenal teacher:

March 13-18, 2009
4 hours of Arm Swings
6 hours of Push Hands
6 hours of Qinna
12 hours of Single Palm Change (four of them with weapons).

If you have yet to train with Mike Martello, now is your chance. Mike is a teacher who is able to physically express the principles the Chinese Martial Arts are famous for. What's more, he can explain these principles and aid you in manifesting these skills yourself. Relaxed power. Supple root. Clear communication. Sense of humor. All good things in a teacher. He is a lifelong martial artist who loves what he does and this comes across in his teaching.

This weekend is the first of a series of 2009 seminars. We are also inviting Mike back in June and October. In addition to Taijiquan applications, Push Hands and Joint Locking, we are offering Baguazhang from the ground up - a nine-day, 36-hour introduction to the art of Baguazhang. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or a beginner wanting to start out right, Mike will help you to take your skills to the next level.

March 2009 = 12 hours of Single Palm Change
June 2009 = 12 hours of Double Palm Change
October 2009 = 12 hours of Xiao Kai Men

Jake, it was the only way I could think to get people to let go of their "arm power" for the push hands on Saturday and the joint locking on Sunday. Their arms will be so exhausted that they will have no choice!

Aw, for you people considering attending the seminar don't be scared - we will have our demonstration and instructional phases where we can rest...and remember the time before the seminar when we were not so "aware" of our shoulders!

See you there!

We are healed of a suffering only by expressing it to the full.
