SERGE AUGIER UK 2008

Postby middleway on Thu May 29, 2008 5:43 am

hi all,

CHENG STYLE BA GUA

Saturday 21st June 2008 - 12.00 noon - 5.00pm
Sunday 22nd June 2008 - 9.30am - 3.00pm

Martial Arts Dojo, GL1 Leisure Centre, Gloucester - £125.00 pp

Internal Martial Arts Adept Serge Augier (As featured in Books by Alex Kozma eg. esoteric warriors, beyond the mysterious gate.) will be visiting the UK once again this year to share his unique and exceptional skills in the Martial Arts. Serge has over 30 years of experience teaching and training and presents his teachings in a clear and open way. Directly accessable during the Seminars Serge is a 'hands on' teacher that will leave you with a very clear understanding of his methods.

This year, Serge will be covering his Ba Gua system. Demonstrating and teaching the in-depth principles behind the 8 changes and how they are applied to no-nonsence combative skills or self defence. In addition you will learn the stepping methods that made Ba Gua so renowned within China among bodyguards and imperial palace guards and how these translate to very functional kicking skills.

With a deep and clear understanding of the very essence of martial arts, Serge’s teachings are useful for anyone serious about the study of authentic martial arts, regardless of style! This is a unique opportunity to learn from a true Master of the old Taoist Tradition.

contact me via PM or email for more information.

Cheers
Chris

Well ... amazing weekend with Serge Augier ... I am way too bruised and battered to write anything too lengthy ...

needless to say it was a seriously good weekend of training ...

Many thanks and greatest respects to Serge for brilliant tuition (and the bruises!) Truely high level, unstoppable stuff.

And thanks to Serges students and everyone else that came down for making his visit an enjoyable success.

Right time to go lick my wounds! LOL ;D

cheers
Chris

Yeah, thanks Chris for arranging the weekend training with Serge.

I've got a seriously painful dead leg, his kicks certainly cut deep and stay with you a while. Very nice, or un-nice as he said ;D

bruises are coming out now .... i have some bad ass ones!!

Basically we covered ba gua excersises and usage, Ba gua mother palms and usage, Stepping skills and how they relate to (quite frankly phenominal) kicking and sweeping, and Serges single change of palm.

It was all very well presented, Serge has a very clear teaching style ... if your left in any doubt he either demonstrates the concept clearly to you ... or the group. Also i think what shines through is his happy and amusing side, his teaching is full of funny little things to lift the spirit... at one stage he noticed someone holding their breath while concentrating on an excersise, serge said. "dont forget to breath, breathing has been proven essential to life ..... you see i have studied!!' :D

Also i think what alot of people were taken aback by was the relaxed but massive power that serge is able to generate from no distance, i saw stars on several occassions during demo's from what looked like small taps. I have no doubt that this was only a very small proportion of his power ... which is quite frankly a scary thought.

The excersises that serge taught were outwardly very simple so as not to make you think too much but get the full benefit from the excersises. It did quickly become apparant however that these excersises could get very deep. Serge's stepping method for example looked very simple, but was actually very difficult for me to do 'properly'.

All in all the seminar and weekend spent with serge was, as last time, a rewarding and enlightening experience.

thnaks again to everyone who attended and most of all Serge.

Cheers
Chris

Great weekend. Thanks to Serge for his training and to Chris for organizing.

The group was a good one.

we cover plenty of very practical aspect of the mother hands.

the stepping, so important in baguazhang, is good to understand as a practical usage...not only walking.

it's important to remember that these arts are not only heath and leisure, they are fighting arts.

the distance of these fighting arts are not hte boxing range, the power is not the muscle power...it's a training in relax power at short range.

thanks to all for surviving the whole week end, special thanks to Chris (and for the demos...)

i think that was the concept most obviously demonstrated over the weekend!

many thanks again Serge, you were very generous.

See you soon.
