Xingyi & Bagua Seminar with Andrea Falk
May 30 & 31, 2009, Guelph Ontario

A special opportunity to train Hebei style Xingyi and Magui style Bagua with Andrea Falk.
Learn two internal styles of Chinese martial arts from one of Canada's foremost teachers. Andrea Falk has trained in Xingyi and Bagua for over 25 years. She has translated and published numerous books on both arts, including the highly respected three volume, "Di Guoyong On Xingyiquan". She teaches regular seminars across Canada and in the U.K. and currently trains with Di Guoyong (in Xingyi) and Li Baohua (in Bagua) in China.

Beginners and newcomers to the groups are welcome. Experienced martial artists from external styles often enjoy the new challenge of xingyi and bagua, and may even heal old injuries and lengthen their training lives.

Xingyi
Saturday, May 30, noon - 4:30
Hebei Xingyi is known for it's straightline footwork and economical, effective techniques. Beginners will learn the 5 element strikes, intermediate students will progress through the 12 animal forms.

Bagua
Sunday, May 31, noon - 4:30
Magui Bagu is characterized by slow and stable circle-walking training that develops lower leg strength, qi and blood flow, and whole body power. Beginners will learn the fundamental circle walking training, begin learning the 16 skills and the start of the 88 move routine. Intermediate students will review, then work on the 88 move routine.

Circle-Walking for Health
Sunday, May 31, noon - 1:00
For those interested in the health benefits of internal martial arts, this one hour portion of the Sunday seminar will focus on circle-walking training.
"The practice of circle-walking trains the qi & blood, eventually developing the whole body. With training the body changes, the vital organs are revitalized & any diseases in the body will gradually disappear. The body becomes robust & one's spirits become clear & strong."
