Jake Burroughs, head instructor at Seattle’s Three Harmonies Martial Arts Center will present a one day intensive on two of the animal forms from Xing Yi; the Horse and Tuo (water skimmer or alligator). The classics state that the Horse is a brave animal using speed and power to overcome its opponent. Where the Tuo is a subtle creature emphasizing twisting of the trunk with devastating knockdowns (kao die). These two animal forms will be taught along with modern day applicable applications.
Xing Yi is renowned for its aggressiveness and no nonsense approach to combat. Battle tested, Xing Yi is one of the only martial systems that is documented to have been used on the battlefield, and is just as useful in the modern age. Students attending the seminar can expect to learn the following:

• Learn the complete forms, which are quite simple to practice, yet are excellent tools for any stylist to enhance their own art
• All applications will be shared along with variations
• Xing Yi’s usage of ‘knock down’ type throws (Kao Die)
• Open to any and all style, levels, ages, and groups!

Instructor:
Jake Burroughs brings over 17 years of martial arts experience to this workshop, training in Mantis under Hu Xi Lin, Bagua, Taiji, and Xing Yi under Tim Cartmell, as well as training with Martin LaPlatney in Li Gui Chang’s Xing Yi. He is the head instructor and operator of Three Harmonies Martial Arts Center in Seattle, WA. For more information visit http://www.threeharmonies.com / http://www.threeharmonies.blogspot.com
