Washington DC / NoVA Seminars with Luo Dexiu

Luo Dexiu will soon be coming to the Washington DC Metro region / Northern Virginia area. This will be his only stop this year on the U.S. East Coast.

Luo Dexiu is one of the world’s foremost experts of the Internal Martial Arts of China. Based in Taipei, Taiwan, Luo Dexiu laoshi began the practice of these arts in his teens and has continued for decades. Soon after he began he became an Asian full-contact fighting champion using these methods. He later continued to dedicate his life and energy to the study and practice of Baguazhang, Xingyiquan and Taijiquan, searching out the teachers and methods of these systems far and wide. He now teaches in Taiwan, and in seminars around the world. He is not only known for his own personal prowess in the arts, but also for his clear and lucid teaching. The seminar schedule will be as follows:

Seminar dates - August 5th through August 10th

August 5th - Wednesday night (7-10pm) - Five Animal Frolics Daoyin Qigong

August 7th - Friday night (7-10pm) - Chen Panling Taijiquan - Form and Function

August 8th - Saturday morning (10am-1pm) - Baguazhang xiantian circle walking and palm changes - intro, forms, ideas, concepts, practice, application

August 8th - Saturday afternoon (2:30pm - 5:30pm) - Baguazhang houtian fighting concepts/application from line 5 and line 6 - elbows, knees, kicks, locks, throws

August 9th - Sunday morning (10am - 1pm) - Baguazhang houtian fighting concepts/application from line 5 and line 6 - elbows, knees, kicks, locks, throws

August 9th - Sunday afternoon (2:30pm - 5:30pm) - Baguazhang houtian fighting concepts/application from line 5 and line 6 - elbows, knees, kicks, locks, throws

August 10th - Monday night (7-10pm) - Baguazhang Throwing and Grappling


The costs for the seminars will be as follows:

Each individual 3 hour session will be $65.

The total cost for the Saturday/Sunday weekend Baguazhang Intensive will be $235.

The total cost for all sessions offered is $400.

To register and pay for the seminars, please contact me first by email at [email protected]. I will then need to receive payment, in person or by mail, before July 28th. I can accept cash and personal checks made out to me, George Wood, as long as they are received before this deadline.

If you wish to skip the early registration discount and pay on the day of the seminars, we will accept walk-ins, but you will need to pay in cash at the door. Payment for each individual session will be $85. Late payment for the weekend seminar sessions is $300.


Seminar Location:

The seminar location is in Sterling, VA and is convenient to Dulles International Airport, Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland.

Awesome! Anybody within 1000 miles of this should check it out. Luo De Xiu will make it worth the trip. His expertise, clarity of teaching and bone shaking applications will inspire you to new heights in your training. An incredible opportunity for anyone who loves Chinese martial arts.

Bump. Don't miss out on this opportunity to see Luo Loashi in the flesh. The man is really an amazing teacher. This is really eye opening stuff. You also get George Wood for free, and probably will get a chance to see Luo Laoshi put some nasty moves on him to demo the full speed effects of his bagua. Even without any experience in bagua or ima this seminar can open your mind to the vast possibilities of martial arts for anyone interested. I have been to all of his seminars in VA, and went up to Boston before he started coming here, and have never missed a dime I spent on it.

And I want to reiterate something I saw in Ed Hines write-up of the Paris seminars...

I get asked the same questions a lot when holding these seminars - I'm just a beginner, will I get anything from it? Will it be too much for me? I've already learned that, should I go to the seminar again? I usually just practice taiji, will I be able to take away anything from the Bagua seminars? Etc.

I've been learning from Luo Dexiu for something like 14-15 years now, every time I see him I never fail to learn something. He can address the novice and expert martial artist alike and help them to improve their art. Everyone I know who has gone to these seminars have come away thrilled and satisfied with what they have learned.
