忽雷架
此影片為忽雷架，徐師五十六歲時所拍攝，與五十五年相較，白髮多了許多。唯徐師不會發 較強的手抖勁，只有微微抖動，如潘師爺所教之小架一般，是以風格不同，徐師自言與王晉 讓師爺之徒，汪洋先生所打之拳架風格接近。
此套忽雷架是徐師由劉德長大師伯處學來，劉德長師伯先從潘師爺習練老架、砲捶等，再經 潘師爺介紹，於王晉讓師爺處習練忽雷架。當時潘、王兩師爺偶有互相推薦學生至對方門下 學習，相互交流者。
有時拳師會將拳架稍微改動，再傳給弟子，由於早晚期風格不同，或是不同批學習的學生， 在其拳架中作改動，這樣拳師就可知道是何時所教學生。其次，每個人的個性，打拳的風格 不同，所以不同的人打出來，或許會不太一樣。
所以，就請各位忽雷架的同好，看看就好，欣賞徐師所打的風格。勿以為是新編的架子，或 是徐師打錯，感謝!

新架是由十四世祖陳有本老年時由老架改編而成，去其發勁、震腳設計，適合老年人、小孩 習練。

Hi Bob!

As I remeber the performer is from Wang Jinrang lineage from Taiwan Hulei. The first clip is very similar to Wang.
The description of the second clip says it is xin jia.... For my eyes I would say his movements are closer to some kind of xiaojia as you have said. The postures and some movements (like the kick about 3:02) are more similar to xiaojia.

As I understand the second form is from the Pan Yongchow lineage.

Having trainined a bit Taiwan Huleijia with 2 of Wang Jinrang's indoor desciples myself, I can identify the form in vid 1 as the same we learned.
But we have a very different shenfa, and I see not one clear dantian rotation (didn't watch the whole vid), not to talk of the characteristic, sudden contractions/explosion like outbursts of the dantian, guiding the whole body and especially the legs and arms.

Master Pan's school and teachings, I don't know but the form shows many similarities to some mainland xinjia I have learned, (I don't think there is a Xiaojia line in Taiwan.) But I'm sure pure Xinjia practictioners won't be too happy with that performance, either.

Or is there really a connection to small frame?

This is Xu Donglong a student of Pan Yongzhou. I briefly practiced the Pan's Laojia with him; He's a very nice and skilled man, but his speciality is not the Huleijia, which he learned from one of Wang Jingran's student. In Pan's system, the shenfa is quite different from other Chen sytle lineages. They practice the laojia yilu, paochui and they also have 2 sets of Chen xiaojia.

Master Xu's abilities, I never would judge on a vid and didn't question, just noted the different shenfa, which you explained.

So, still no luck with Huleijia?
The prof isn't much of use, is he?
Maybe Taizhong is the best option, there you can do Xinjia and Hulei with Zheng.

As you said, no luck yet with Huleijia... The prof didn't contact me. Do you know which days of the week Zheng teaches Hulei in Taizhong and how often? Oh he also does Xinjia? from whom did he learn it, very interesting!

I think I could manage once a week in Taizhong, depending on which day.

His Xinjia is from Zhao Zhensheng 趙振升, Chen village. And he normally teaches best one on one, so go for that!
