Sigh. Since this doesn't look the same as the Wu fast form of Ma Yueliang it must be made up. There's no other possible explanation...

;D

p.s. loving the table dismount b.t.w. - I score it an 8.9!

yes. as we age, smaller or little movements from the knee, and well just about every joint.

however, his general moves/postures are still there.

small frames/jia

some times mean all the moves are practiced in a smaller scale/circle, or shorter sequence or just to be differentiated from other forms/sequences.

cool spear forms/sequences from Tai Xing Pi Gua (monkey style).

need to have a good spear to practice, over time, the spear( head) would fall off (that is a dangerous thing) or damaged.

My response had nothing whatsoever to do with "not been keeping up with all the posts here", but I do indeed have a real life and everything. Hope you do, too! ;)

Oh yes ;D

I have a life that wakes me up at 6.30 on the dot every morning screaming to be fed, then refuses to let me do any Tai Chi practice by clinging to my leg and demanding to be picked up.

Wouldn't have it any other way ;D

My view on all the secret transmission, closed-door lineage, and other claims of superiosity is that most of them are bogus. There will always be people out there who like to fabricate stories in order to appear that they are better than the rest. Unless there's solid historical proof to back it up, I usually take these things with a grain of salt.

Ha! Ha! ;D I have been a Daddy five times, with nearly 25 years age difference between my oldest and youngest, so I know exactly what you mean. :P I wouldn't have it any other way either. 8-)

Banhou's, as well as Shaohou, curriculum included a wealth of practices.

What you mention is referred to as Dijia (low frame), or in certain lines as Dajia, and you can see the same teacher of the video - Jia Zhixiang - doing it here

Image

By the way, along the curriculum the Xiaojia (or Gaojia) from the video comes later then Dijia i.e. it is more advanced
