I like the Bruce Lee poster. Very nice.
One does not simply post on RSF.

Nice. What style of Bagua?
It would have been nicer to see what moves they were derived from.
Cheers

Li is mainly Cheng Tinghua style.
It is necessary to drink alcohol and pursue other fun human activities. The art (i.e. karate) of someone who is too serious has no "flavour."

What strikes me as interesting is that although the moves are supposed to be Bagua applications, Master Li begins with a Xinyi type knee-headbutt combo straight into the opponent's center gate.

I guess no matter how many styles you train, habits from the core style always stay with you.

CJ
What should strike you more obviously is that all martial arts share common techniques and applications because principles are very, VERY, similar across the board. Only so many ways to break and arm, and kick the nuts!

Thanks

Jack:

No need to be defensive. Master Li obviously has great skills. Nontheless, it's easy to tell from his body movements and habits that he's a Xingyi/Xinyi man at heart. I am a Bagua guy who also practice Hebei Xingyi. When I do Xingyi, the Bagua flavor and techniques are there as well. It doesn't make me better or worse than someone who claims to be a Xingyi or Bagua purist.

Look at the very first application he shows. His body unconsciously falls into a classic Che style Shanxi Xingyi Santi -- with front foot turned slightly inward -- before moving forward into the opponent's center gate with obvious constriction/expansion power generation for which the style is famous for, and hitting with the head and knee. It's a great move, but strikes me as a classic Xingyi/Xinyi application.
