some highlites;

1. yellow river and lo river merge near chen jia gou. one river is full of dirts, the other is clear. the mixing image of clear and dirty water gave us the idea of tai chi diagram and pre heaven ba gua. Fu Xi created these ideas from watching the rivers mixing.

2. this area is also a very important strategic point in history. many decisive battles happened here. this area is defending lo yang (second capital in tang) and kai feng (capital in song). during 3 kingdoms, Zhu ge liang defeated Si ma yi in this area.

3. across the yellow river, shaolin temple is not too far.

4. chen zheng lei explained, relaxation and speed created the power from tai chi boxing methods. relaxation so that the transmission of power from the feet and the rest of the body is smooth with least resistence/retardation/retention.

5. wang xi an explained we have to harness/preserve/nuture Qi from dan tian first, the qi then spread and cover/protect our internal organs, then bones, then to the skin. the expression of tai chi power, is a sudden outburst of qi from dan tian to the rest of the body-- there is still stealness/hardness outside of the softness. if only sofness, it will not work.
