Lol. Yeah he called it the wrestling version. Their mats are quite soft. Although I have trained that variant on bjj mats without a problem.

The single counter seems like it would lead the Uke right into deep half guard if he holds onto the leg.

I really like uchi matta and uchi matta to ankle pick.

Those were fun to watch. All of them definitely in my knowledge base but thinly. LOL

Anyone else like to keep your head closer to opponents chest/torso on a single?

I used to play with that uchi matta to ankle pick a lot. Unfortunately it was never in slow motion so the success rate varied.
