Just a few weeks ago Chan Chung Lam passed away, and now another great master leaves us.
Its a shame the way he went, but he is at peace now!

Was Master Chan your teacher? (ie the gent shown in clips blasting a guy up against a mattress in a stairwell)? If so, what a loss to the IMA community: He was very impressive.

Did he pass on all or most of his material? Or, to put it another way, does he have a successor who has inherited his core skills to carry on the line? And, BTW, what did he die of?

That video shows he was very impressive. Thank you for sharing it with us, which I believe is the only video of Lu Hong Ba Shi around. Videos like these will help in preserving his legacy.

Hi all... thanks Overlord, we do fear his skill, it is still unmatched, and in fact talked about it a lot during the wake last tonight. I touched hands last with him about 8 weeks ago, and still couldn't beat him.

Hi Strange, yes, it was his wish that nobody should know about his condition. That video above was taken only about 6 years ago, a short time before his cancer was diagnosed. His request for us to keep mum about his condition contributed to why I was irritable and hot tempered every time his skills were questioned, and I apologize again to whom ever I've attacked, offended or was mean to during that period.

Hi Andy, yes, he was my teacher for over 26 years, and the guy in red being throws is Dylan, student for over 13 years. He was able to pass everything to only 4 people, and I'm currently trying to convince his son to finish, but this time through myself. He battled cancer for 6 years, lymphoma but hereditary. The video with Dylan was taken about 2 years ago, but he was significantly weak by then. It is a shame that we didn't have anything videoed during his peak, before chemo therapy. He would fajing me about double the distance of the video with Dylan, and I was 260-280 lbs., he was only 140-150 lbs. during his peak.

I reserved that video above till he passed, honestly I don't think he would have wanted it out if he was alive today.

Thanks Drifting, and everyone else. I'll be active again after his cremation on the 31st.

It is a great loss to LHBF. He preserves the tranditional flavor of the style. Too bad we can't see his footage when he was at his peak.

But on the plus side a tiny smidgen of his skill is preserved on film; much more importantly, he has downloaded it all into you and the three others, so it is now up to you and them to practice like devils and keep it going.
