In some ways it has improved since the 70's when some deadly people of the hard styles watched movies of
Tai Chi and declared themselves to be masters, especially if they had an epicanthic fold.

I've never heard them so described, only recently (last 10years) have I heard of them as the 12 yin 12 yang neigong,
and they're supposedly secret...when I learnt, only 3 were secret, and they were called the "neigong". The rest were called the "technicals".

I met this man about 1979 at the Woolamaloo Police Boys club in Darlo. I used to train there about 3 hours 5 days a week. Anyway he proceeded to teach his hippy shit and I was finding it distracting to say the least. Well he finished his class and when his student (trendy's) had left he walked up to me and said: "Ah you do tai chi too" my reply was (exact words) "No you do shit I do tai chi" . He went white and left rather fast. Never saw him again at my training spot. I believe he was Australia first tai chi millionaire. Paul Lam has that crown now I think. He was one of the reasons I refer to our art by its mother name from Malaysia.

This forum has more than its share of members peddling the same abstract BS which is one of the reasons I only teach in house (closed door). The moment money enters the equation and it takes on a business structure most of what's honest seems to disappear. The other peddler in that time frame was Earl the !!!!! and thank fu**k he's Resting In Peace.
