Some nice Xingyi

The motions look like Song to my eyes, but the flavor seems to go beyond textbook, and into the territory of owning the movement. I like. :)

Awesome! Would love to see him fighting in a Kung Fu movie. 8-)

This is Zhang Zengji laoshi, who is indeed a teacher of Song style xingyi based in Beijing. I would guess this more 'free' form of practice is either his own realisation or is something specific to their branch (Wu Lixiao - Tian Jinzhong), have not quite seen this kind of very free form fali from other branches. In any case, it is very nice stuff, and Zhang laoshi is a master with deep xingyi skills, would recommend that anyone interested in xyq in Beijing should check him out.

I can't watch the video :(

I'm always interested when i hear "freeform" and xing yi in the same sentence :)

If this guy is in Beijing I may be able to meet with him when i visit there later in the year. Does anyone have contact details? Jon?

Thanks

Oh I just got to watch the video. Not quite as freeform as I expected, lots of familiar orthodox type movements linked together fairly well with sporadic bursts of force which are pretty nice. He does look pretty good and would still love to meet with anyone like him in Beijing that might be willing to exchange and train with me while I'm in Beijing, I'l be there for 5 weeks from July 16th to August 20th
