I studied with him for 9.5 years when he was in Oakland, CA.
It is necessary to drink alcohol and pursue other fun human activities. The art (i.e. karate) of someone who is too serious has no "flavour."

Hi

You clearly found something worthwhile in his art.

I have had " Effortless Power " on the bookshelf for a over a year and will now endeavour to pick my way through it.

Did you find Peter's skill exceptional, (obviously it seems you did, doh)..

cheers

I think you published only less than half of your intended post... ;)

I've pushed with one of Peter's students - the fellow was very sensitive, soft, and had been playing push hands and taiji for many years. I didn't like how the form looked as it's somewhat antithetical to the Chen I used to practice but there were some good skills there.

At the time that I studied with him, Peter was probably the best in the area in that his teaching regimen was well thought out and designed to get you the skills that he had. That is not to say that there weren't better martial artists in the area, as his teacher, Wong Jackman, was still teaching then, but Wong's teaching method was different, not what I was looking for.

I haven't had the pleasure to met Peter. I really enjoyed the videos. Thanks for posting them.
