Dr. Phil Garrison (DAOM) interviews Dr. Donald Harper (PhD) about the Mawangdui manuscripts and their relationship to early Chinese medicine. Topic include: mai-vessel theory, herbal theory, wu-xing (five agents) theory, sexual cultivation techniques, longevity practices, zangfu (organ) theory, and the recent archaeological discoveries at Laoguanshan.

Dr. Phil Garrison, DAOM, is an adjunct professor at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. He specializes in the Chinese medical classics.

Dr. Donald Harper, PhD, is the centennial professor in Chinese studies at the University of Chicago. He specializes in early Chinese medical manuscripts and the period of Chinese history from the Warring States to the Han dynasty.

Harper is a great guy and a bright mind. He did come for some research to the Institute of History of Medicine in Munich, where he worked with Prof. Paul U. Unschuld, another great mind!
